And in fact, Bub didn´t look beautiful at all at that moment.

Firstly, of course, he had been very happy to meet somebody who could help him to get out of his bubble, but then, quite soon after, he had begun to feel very scared by the ugly face of the little witch. And one must say, she really looked quite ugly, our Barbra Cadabra! Although, according to witches norms, and although so young, she already showed signs of future beauty. Some even said she had what it took to become a  Miss Witchworld one day! But in the meanwhile, and for our little Bub, she looked terribly scary and he now wished for nothing more than for her to fly away and disappear into the night on her ugly stick!  And even the Moon, in his old wisdom, who always had a keen sense of when the worst things were going to happen, had a bad feeling in his tummy now.

Oh, you didn´t know that the Moon has his tummy in  his cheeks, did you?

That  this is exactly the reason why his cheeks are so full, sometimes! Well, now you know!

Anyway… the Moon could see how the little witch suddenly had a net in her hand and caught the bubble with the little boy inside and he knew, that something was terribly wrong, But unfortunately, again, in spite of his infinite wisdom, the moon couldn´t do anything to help. The sad thing about wisdom, sometimes: it is totally useless! The Moon could only silently witness how the bloody little witch tied the net to the auto-pilot button, an incredibly ugly grin spreading across her face, and flew away through the night at the speed of shadow…. so much faster than the speed of the light!

The moon closed his eyes and tears rolled down his full, round cheeks. A flood of tears, which dropped to the earth. And the tears fell on the Earth creatures, and the ones who were not sleeping yet  panicked, wondering if this was the poisoned rain the Nature prophets were foretelling all the time. But it was not a poisoned rain, it was not even rain at all. It was only moon tears. And believe it or not, it was the first time in his long long life that the moon was crying. This is why he didn´t understand at all what was happening to him, and he started to ask himself what he was doing there, all alone high in the night sky. He wondered,  what use was it, and what was he good for himself. Honestly, he asked himself, sniffling back tears, for what? He had no legs and arms, no wings, not even a motor nor a broomstick, and not even a hat! He was just a lonely shiny balloon!

And as his moon-mind danced from question to question, he pondered the biggest mystery of all:

What was it all about?

  2. I feel sorry for Bub too; he must be scared witless!
And I echo the moon’s question…what is it all about? Life, I mean!
