  1. This is a very joyful card, Jenny! I love dolphins anyway, and was lucky enough to swim with them in Venezuela a few years back. Wonderful, gentle creatures. This chappie look dressed up for a glam rock gig -nothing wrong with that! 🙂

  2. This is such a beautiful card, Jenny! I am sure that Naomi was over-joyed about it.
And I love dolphins too… I remember when I saw my first one outside there, in the wild, about 10 years ago… I was sailing with my brother, from Gibraltar to Tenerife, had stood many hours on the deck hoping to see some dolphins, but I didn’t see any and I gave up eventually. But then, one day, I was sitting in the boat “lounge’, as I saw in the corner of my eye a shadow in one of the portholes, looked and… there it was a dolphin head with eyes looking at me! I started screaming, ran to the deck but I must have scared the poor dolphins as they were already far away as I reached the deck… I could see the whole herd leaping…
But it remains one of the most moving encounters with nature of my entire life…

  3. Miki, your story about the dolphin watching you reminds me of something that happened about 20 years ago. One of my first jobs after uni was as an education officer for a nature reserve in the north east; much of my time was spent teaching kids the joys of nautre(haha) but one of the real highlights was going with the other wardens to watch the very active clan of badgers that lived in our woods. Now, that was brilliant in itself but one night after we’d put down foodand watched the badgers and dusk was fast descending, we were all sitting in utter stillness trying to decide if the badgers were all gone out on their nightly rounds, when I sense something a few feet away from me. I very slowly turned my head, to see, sitting up on its haunches, a big badger, quite obviously watching us! We eyed each other with respect for some minutes before Badger decided I wasn’t doing anything interesting enough to stay and watch me and sauntered off into the growing gloom, completely untroubled by me being there!
Magnificent creatures, I did so love them!

  4. I do think the card does look like a glam rock dolphin too!

  5. You’re very right about the Glam Rock dolphin! LOL Naomi is a very glam rock kind of person. 🙂 She’s a real butterfly-brain, trying to do a million things at once. She has two children who are unique and wonderful and so, so funny. Naomi does aromatherapy, sports massage, baby massage and is currently training in psychotherapy. God help us all when she qualifies! LOL I think my choice of a Glam Rock dolphin was to acknowledge all sides of her being. I think she liked him. 🙂

  6. Great stories about the dolphin and badger, Miki and Viv. I can just imagine your surprise, Miki, at seeing a dolphin looking back through the porthole at you – and likewise with the badger, Viv, except without the porthole. *chuckle* A really special moment.

  7. Jenny, now you’ve got me imagining sea-going badgers in little matelot outfits….
grrr…just the insane image I really need now!

  8. *giggle* Think “Wind in the Willows” – there, that’s calmed it all down now. *chuckle*
