Milchkaffeenacht im Deutchland

Milchkaffeenacht im Deutchland

The weekend sprung a big surprise when my German promoter phoned on Friday evening saying he needed BC Sweet for the Sparkassen Arena in Kiel, Germany the next night!

Apparently, one of the scheduled bands, T.Rex, were unable to appear due to the singer’s illness. So the next morning I found myself Hamburg-bound aboard a 737. In customary style I was delivered to the hotel, where I had time to collect my thoughts, get shaved and showered and enjoy a milchkaffee in the hotel bar.

Arriving at the venue 40 minutes before the show, I had a bite to eat backstage and said hello to the guys, before taking to the stage with no soundcheck or preparation, in front of a few thousand people! Sometimes, perhaps surprisingly, it’s better that way. It was nice to catch up with old friends such as The Rubettes and the Bay City Rollers, but even better to finally touch down in Alicante on Sunday evening, and head home to Miki along a moonlit highway.

  1. Wow! That is last minute! That first pic looks so cozy. Quite a contrast to the show.

  2. Quite right Shelley – relaxing in the hotel cafe or bar prior to being driven to the arena is like the calm before the storm!

  6. Speaking of cups, candles, and reflections (or a similar lighting scheme),
