Proverbs & Sayings

Hi Guys, I’m sorry I’m behind in my participation…but since I just wrote this on my own blog, I thought it would work for the current Cafe Crem them: “A picture can say a thousand words.” Have none of you artists thought of that one? lol

  1. Good humour today, Psych, I love that! I guess we all artists were thinking of it, and simply going on painting and keeping silence…
I have a good German one with “words”:
    “Taten sind Männer, Worte Weiber”
“Deeds are male, words are female”

    True or not?

  2. And as Madame Monet says:
    Better late then never!

  3. Good one Psych! Lets have a little pop quiz then; Who wrote the song “If” and which American TV star had a hit with the cover version?

  4. I’m gonna have Bread songs in my head all day now, Kev. Just what I need for a lovesick mood. I cheated a little to find who did the cover–I vaguely remember Telly Savalis trying to sing, but I couldn’t find any recordings. Was he any good? Maybe better than William Shatner?

A picture should be able to say a thousand words. But for some reason I’m always compelled to add more words to my paintings. Maybe I’m worried they don’t stand on their own.

I had never heard the saying “deeds are male, words are female,” but that is fascinating! Something else to think about while I hum Bread tunes and work on my leopard-spot painting.
