  1. Hey there guys!!!
Great photo. I am laughing here because this is so much fun and I haven’t had enough coffee yet and I haven’t had a drink. Ah who needs it when we I know we all are probably the only ones on the Net today having fun.
You see Miki & Kev how much we all love,
    {Cafe Crem}

  2. Yay! You guys look great 🙂 This is fun. Especially since I’m somehow managing to sneak some computer time in between listening politely to conversations here.

  3. Thanks Michael and Shelley!
I’m really not a big fan of being photographed, but with Kevin on my side I had the courage to affront the camera!
And the idea is so nice, we had to participate, anyway!
Oh Shelley… I remember times where I had to do the same… listening politely I mean… great that you escape to US!

  6. Speaking of movies, we’re watching High School Musical 2, one of Nicole’s gifts.

  7. You’re familiar with Helen Mirren, Shelley? What of her work do you know? Have you seen the Prime Suspect series, she’s fantastic in that, but Miki and I have yet to see the final one, so if you’ve seen it, dont tell!

  10. Yes, Mary, we are so much in love! I wish everybody on earth -and where else too!- could find his/her ideal partner as Kevin and me did…

  11. Is there a nice story behind how you met and got together that you could share with us?

  12. About 2 years ago, I put my new website for paintings on commission on line (www.artdetriomphe.com). I went then to France because my mother had an operation. I received there a mail from somebody telling me how much he enjoyed my paintings on my site. It was a simple, but very kind mail, I sensed at once a nice person behind. I answered back, he answered back and so on. 3 days later we were chatting on the computer (what I normally never do, except with my family), 2 days later we were speaking on the phone, one week later I drove back to Spain, one day later I drove down to him. As I arrived, we run towards each other and had a long long wonderful hug, and I felt within me a peace like never before in my life.
This person was Kevin, an English Rock musician living in Spain!

  13. As an addendum to Miki’s comment Mm.Monet, I feel I must add this. I’ve never been a spiritual person, or one who put too much store in the fates, or whatever. But the feeling I experienced when we finally met was so deep, so profound, I can only describe it like the closing of a circle. I actually remember sighing with relief, and thinking; “at last.” (Sorry to get all soppy on here, it’s like Miki says, I’m just an old romantic!!)

  14. Thanks for sharing with us your story Kev and Miki. Through stories or the personal narrative we open ourselves to others and this shows {trust}.
That said, {we} appreciate what you have shared and sitting here I feel so much more {connected} and this gives me a great boost in choosing to be more open myself.
Does anyone else feel this way?

  15. I think our Cafe inspires a special trust amongst us all here within it, and between each other. I believe it is unlike most interactions on the net. We should all be proud of that.

  16. I feel exactly the same, Michael.
This year I had the feeling to share Christmas with many friends, it was simply wonderful!

  17. This does feel like a holiday with friends. Very nice, since I have been missing some of my old friends who I don’t get to see any more.

Kev–Prime Suspect was the first thing I saw Helen Mirren in, and I absolutely loved it! And her. I’ve seen her in a few movies since, but don’t recall the names right now.

  18. Oh Guys… what a wonderful love story..
It’s amazing when soul mates meet, there is no need for words but just by looking at the other person’s eyes one can realize that he or she is the right..
    It’s a heavenly experience..

I wish all the best for you two… love and love and much more love!!

    Comment by Mary | December 26, 2007

  19. Thanks for your lovely words Mary!
Shelley, yeah, she’s a great actress, the last major movie I saw her in before The Queen was Calendar Girls, which was great, a true story and mostly filmed near where I used to live in Yorkshire. I also seem to remember she was in The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her lover.
Oh! and The Madness of King George, which was simply brilliant!

  20. Do you know, Miki and Kev, that few people in this world can live as fully in their hearts as you two, and your story of meeting is so remarkable for that reason. I got all goose-bumpy reading it and could hear symphonic music as you ran to each other for The Hug. I do believe in Karma, soulmates, synchro-destiny and all that, but usually the signs we get as much more subtle. I’m so glad you did find each other!

Comment by Susan Cornelis | December 28, 2007

  21. Yes, Susan, we know… we know too that we have been very lucky to meet, and we know too that it was not only luck. Especially me, I had to fight against many people close to me telling me that I was crazy to drive down to somebody I met on the Internet, and not only that, a rock singer too! I was very aware of all the eventual dangers, but I didn’t doubt or hesitate one second!
What I want to say, is that luck is not enough to have a successful life, in whatever it is, love, work, art… You must have courage and dare to take your luck when it is in front of you. Generally the biggest the luck the most courage you need to take it (I’m not speaking about things like lottery obviously!)… and most of the time you have no time left to doubt, you must take it in the moment it appears!
Kevin and me thank life and fate, everyday, to make us meet on the net, and thank each other to have had the courage to meet in real life.

  22. I think this is a lovely story! When I met my husband in Marrakesh, who was accompanying someone my friend was doing business with, I thought in the first five minutes that he might be the one! And that was already 17 years ago (but it feels like three or four years).

    Best regards,
    Madame Monet

  23. Miki, I forgot to mention that I agree with you about you must have more than luck, you must act on it.

    Susan, I believe in reincarnation.
