Café Crem

Art, Music and Words around The Coffee Table

A Pot of Coffee at the End of the Rainbow

Hello everybody from Café Crem!

We -Miki & Kev Moore- are still away, in the South of Spain, enjoying the sun and the kindly atmosphere reigning here everywhere. Last time as we were together here, Cafe Crem didn´t even exist, you know, and the coffee cup collection in this house is rather rock´n roll oriented, as this is the place where Kev lived before we met. Interesting cups, of course but obviously cups for boys and I needed something more feminine and colourful. So today we thought, we should go to the beautiful village of Mojacar and buy two typical cups from this area. Here they are

Coffee Cups from Mojacar

The black guy on the cups and in the foreground is The Indalo Man, whom you can see everywhere you go in Mojacar.

The indalo represents a figure holding a rainbow, and appeared for the first time in a cave from the region. and is of prehistoric origin. The villagers of Mojacar regard it as a totem to drive away storms, a spirit with sufficient power to dominate the elements.

And I swear you: it works!

We have just made the test: the café au lait tastes wonderful in the Indalo cups!!!

  1. Wow! Those are really nice coffee cups, Miki! I’m so glad you and Kev are having such a great time in Spain!
Send us a little sunshine. It’s cold and damp here on the West Coast of Canada. No snow, though. Brrrr!

  2. Nie earthy cups.. I think the man is holding a bow, after all , he was a primitive man in need of fresh food. Is Kev remembering his olden days?

  3. Hi Kev and Miki. Hope you are having a wonderful time. We got lots of snow here, even more than the photos I sent you. Bonny’s got rain I think where it is normal in Canada for them to get snow. Global Warming! The Noble Peace Prize! I’d rather be drinking dark rich black coffee from one of those cups. Amazing. Cheers/michael

  5. It would be great if this Indalu guy could also chase away inner storms. Maybe it works if you drink from the cup he’s one, and his protection goes inside you with the coffee?
