Art, Music and Words around The Coffee Table

A quote for my artist friends

It is art that makes life, makes interest, makes importance… and I know of no substitute whatever for the force and beauty of its process.

  1. I carry around a small little Henry James book about a writer to remind me of why I am here in the first place when I forget because life gets so chaotic.

  6. This quote from Henry James match (and consolidates) some other quotes from Graham Greene, Bertolucci, and many others… The meaning is the same: art – literature, painting, music. film, etc. give sense to our life… It help us to support and to escape from the madness of the world…

  7. Sorry, I thought this entry was from Michael!
By the way: we should all add our name or screen name at the end of the entry, so that we know from whom is the entry! I did it at the beginning, I even edited each entry and added the names, but it is too much work for me now, also please everybody (and me first…)!!!

  8. I edited your post and corrected the link. I don’t know which were your problems with links somewhere else, but here the reason is that there were 2 mistakes in the link name. It is:
    http://www.online-literature/henry_james/
    and not
    http://www.online-iterature/henry james/
Although “iterature” is a wonderful word!!!

  9. Great quote! An important reminder. At this holiday season I always think of doing more art rather than more shopping. It’s so much more satisfying.

  10. yes, miki, signing the post would help a lot! I thought of that too…

And Susan, I’m totally of your opinion: creating something is way more satisfying than almost anything…
