Guinea Pig

Viv's birthday card!

Viv's birthday card!

This one was done using the same process, i.e. drawing first then back-painting.  Except instead of using beads (as you can no doubt see!) I used multicolours of yarn and some hand-made tissue paper for him to sit on.  Oh, and a sequin to tuck behind his ear!

Royal Engineers

My Dad was a Warrant Officer in the Royal Engineers.  It was his birthday and I wanted something that represented his life.

Again, I pencil drew the design onto the card and back-painted where necessary, then added beads and used gold pen and black pen for the lettering.

He was immensely pleased with it and its now framed and on their living-room wall.  :-)

Angelfish

This was my first attempt at a bead collage card.

This was my first attempt at a bead collage card.

I basically pencil-drew the fish in outline, then back-painted each section so that white card wouldn’t show through inbetween the beads.  Then painstakingly (and it did hurt, until I had the bright idea of putting the card on top of a biscuit tin, which meant I didn’t have to bend over it so far!) stuck each bead, finishing off with the trailing fins and weed, made from wool yarn and the sand, made from multicoloured glitter.  Unfortunately, what didn’t show up in the scan, is that the whole thing is on pearlised card.
