Murky

My butterfly has been quite reluctant to emerge. This is what she looks like this morning. Murky.

  1. Murky! great word! I don’t think I’ve seen a murky butterfly before, perhaps a murky moth…..:-)

She looks like she’s landing on velvet.

  2. It’s funny you mention velvet. I thought the same thing after it was done, and it reminded me of the Red Velvet Monster piece I did last year– http://shelleymhouse.wordpress.com/?s=red+velvet.
And I see that piece was inspired by my Murky Pond photo…hmmm…things come ’round full circle.

Oh Kev — I thought you might appreciate this bit of trivia. I created these background patterns for my butterfly from a photo I took of chocolate syrup swirling around in melting ice cream. Yum :)

  3. Beautiful, Shelley… looks for me as if the wings are made of glass…
By the way: Kevin is trying hard to forget the existence of chocolate!!!!

  5. Chocolate and I are uneasy bedfellows…I fear it seeks to bring about my downfall, after it has fattened me up.
