Grotesque Café Art
One of my recent sketches at cafe Masko.
I was not in my best mood that day
and I tended to see the world in a quite grotesque way, as you can see …
Some people try to invade everybody’s space, don’t they?

I like this sketch even if he has his foot under your table.
Hah! I love this one. Even if you were not in a good mood, you’ve lightened mine by sharing this. That foot is a great metaphor for so many ways in which people can irritate us!
THis is soooo true! I love this kind of sketch which distorts proportions. There’s always some kind of Truth that comes out when you draw like that. I have a really hard time doing it on purpose (although I’ve tried) so maybe a dark mood is an ally.
I see things like this when I have a migraine or a fever. Watching your own feet stretch away into the distance is a weird feeling; shame I could never draw it! Amazing sketch, Miki!
Well for someone who is sad you sure can express in your painting another feeling. It made me laugh when I looked at it. Reminded me of the distortions Picasso played around with and I read in several biographies he was always angry.
Lovin’ those shoes as well as the playful warping of spatial..whatever-the-noun-form-of-”spatial”-might-be.
Wonderful sketch:)
Brings out the frustration of the moment so well.
