Wow! I just about missed your Birthday! Just squeaking under the wire for this one… I know your Birthday is officially over in Europe where you live, but here you have at least 7 more hours to celebrate. So go on extend your Birthday a few more hours. Who’s to know???
Just back from a trip to visit family in Italy. Our niece Sara was celebrating her First Communion in the Church. We had promised to be there and we were.
One afternoon, Rob and I headed out into the foothills of the Maritime Piemontese Mountains near Cuneo (his hometown). I wanted to take some photos as inspiration for art. I had been walking along a road which was more of a trail, while Rob followed slowly in the car - hoping no one else would try to pass him. The road was just too narrow!!! I was turning to go back to the car and behind me was this perfect shot. I literally had a nanosecond to capture it. I didn’t compose or anything, just pointed my camera up the slope and this is the result.
I dedicate this photo to you, for your Birthday, Miki. Happy Birthday and many happy hours of inspiration and art for the rest of the year. (To be renewed on your next Birthday!!!)

Thank you so much for the wonderful words and the dedicated photo! Yes, it is a perfect shot, and the tree reminds me so much of figures in my series of paintings “Fantascapes” …
