LET’S GET SOCIAL #2

I realize many may be away from a computer and cannot post or may not want to post their up close and personal photos , but I think it is a great idea. Now, I never recognize myself in my photos. Somehow I have a better idea of my physical self, rooted in my 30’s when I looked, well… better. I am willing to face 2008 with an updated idea of ME, and here it is. I did take a few to select one. Nothing better like the truth, Happy truthful 2008!
I am in my studio/home office , my favorite place of the house making some sketches.

Wooooohhhhhhh!
So happy to SEE you too, Yolanda!
I don’t how your 2008 idea of you will be, but be sure that OUR 2007 idea of you is great and that we love to have you here with us!
Making sketches? The best way to spend Christmas for me too! But today I made a compromise with Kevin, he wanted to look at Christmas films all the day, so I am going through the whole program with him… but well, I begged for an hour between the films, and I then come to Cafe Crem, and work a little bit on landscapes sketches I made in our last trip…
Merry Christmas Yolanda, and 1000 thanks to share your face with us!
Merry Christmass to all and specially you two that invited me to joing such a marvelous group of happy people. What I can feel is joy for life and it is soooooo good. Happy 2008!
Yay Yolanda! You present 2008 with a beautiful face! Happy Holidays
Hello Yolanda so nice to meet you at last. I admire your courage and your initiative to particiate on Christmas Day with {getting social}|||
Ain’t it a Wonderful Life. I watched it last night {the family ritual carried over from my childhood} did you know that film? {made in 1946} The theme {how if one life was missing the profound impact on so many people} . Really got me into this idea of {Getting Social} today no matter what because each of us counts in this world and each of us {here} has impacted one another even if nobody’s said it yet. Perhaps a great theme which demonstrates how so few can do so much with so little effort than just participating. {We all need each other whether we realize it or not}
A pleasure to see you Yolanda! hope you’re having a lovely day!
Thanks to all, i know that marvelous movie, it’s a must see, a recurrent movie for me also, every year.I watched Santa Claus 1 last night, Today we will finish Santa Claus 2 and later at night THE movie. I have to watch it every yera and have instilled that tradition in my niece also. It carries a beautiful, beautiful message and sends me to tears also, but that is a proce of feeling a deep truth in our hearts. It makes me aware that everyone is important and definitely impact each of us in ways only the Lord knows . What a Wonderful Life!
“Santa Claus The Movie” was the first film on Kevin’s list today. I didn’t know it, and I loved it. I’d loved to wear clothes like the elf !
The second film was “The Queen”, starring Helen Mirren. Great!
And Now we are up for the third one “Music and Lyrics”, starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore!
What a Wonderful Life!
And happy Christmas to your niece, Yolanda!
Yolanda here on Christmas Eve they give us It’s A Wonderful Life and then on Christmas Day they give us White Christmas with Bing Crosby and the General. {I’m dreaming of a white Christmas just like the ones I used to know/ We’re the tree tops glisten/ and children listen/ to hear/ sleigh bells in the snow.},,,,,
Oh! I love Helen Mirren! I’ll have to check that movie out. I haven’t seen Music and Lyrics yet either, but that looks so cute. And a fun movie for you and Kev in particular
I had just one White Xmass once and I loved it. I am content with some chilly California winds right now.
Today will be filled with lots of movies, typical food with broiled pork and of course a cup of heavy laden {with Bacardi rum} eggnug . Yum!
It is so nice also that we can be connected through cell phones, internet, text messages and pictures with the current technology. I called my mom in Puerto Rico, my sister in Arizona and my friend in Massachusetts { I never know if this word is spelled currectly , so my im- promptu apologies if it is , I don’ t sweat about small things , hope you don’t either} within the hour.
~~
I had to edit Massachusetts, I lied, I do sweat them.
Yolanda, I think you only missed one “t” out, which is a helluva lot better than I would have done, I think!
Kevin is right, I just checked in the Wikipedia. And for the curious ones:
“Massachusetts Bay Colony was named after the indigenous population, the Massachusett, whose name can be segmented as mass-adchu-s-et, where mass- is “large”, -adchu- is “hill”, -s- is a diminutive suffix meaning “small”, and -et is a locative suffix, identifying a place. It has been translated as “at the great hill,” “by the many small hills” “at the little big hill,” or “at the range of hills,” referring to the Blue Hills, or in particular, Great Blue Hill, located on the boundary of Milton and Canton, to the southwest of Boston.[3][4][5] (c.f. the Narragansett name Massachusêuck;[4] Ojibwe misajiwensed, “of the little big hill”).[6]“
Great photo, Yolanda. It makes me feel like we’ve just been personally introduced!
Best regards,
Madame Monet
Nice to see you Yolanda!!!
It’s a great picture!! You look so smart!
I think I will have to post a picture of me, as everyone is posting pictures… hmm.. Micheal’s idea is a great one indeed!!
>>Mari<<
I haven’t arrived at the next post as I am working my way through from lets get social+ and I see something here with Mary’s post.
Since I have been here Bird in Love was Bird in Love. Within 24 hours Bird in Love becomes Mary who just said she is going to post her picture too.
{The point} is there must have been and always has been an underlying desire to really get to know people here at our beloved {Cafe Crem} and I humbly state that I was just the catalyst or the messenger that delivered the message. What made it {real} was participation and that is what I see happening here.
{What do you see?}
I think people asically want to know each other but are suspicious or shy. It’s the kind of protection we need in this era with all these hacking and internet scams.
So, we people need to build confidence in us so that others can reach to us. I think that happened in “cafe crem”. with its open and happy environment. Everyone has behaved and no one has lashed anyone, so there is a measure of civism that is seldom seen in chat rooms and collaborative environments. I think we have agreed to disagree (when that happens and if tha thappens) with a degree of elegance that is worth mentioning and THAT is a formula for success.
