I have got some doubts concerning the name Coffee Cup Club…
First I made some research on the Internet, and saw that a Coffee Cup Club, with the internet address www.c-cup.com, already exists. To be precise: existed. It seems to have closed its doors in 2006… but well, I don´t like to have a second hand name for us!
And then I got to thinking that the word “Club” is not adequate. Club sounds like something exclusive, and in fact it should be the contrary.
So I have thought to replace “club” with “circle”, a word which is much more inclusive, and I think describes us all as we sit around our virtual coffee table, exchanging paintings, photos and ideas.
Please. members and readers, I would like to hear what YOU think.

Miki, you’re a nightmare! Make up your mind! No..seriously though, the circle idea appeals to me. I really see us all in our “cybercafe” a meeting of minds, and I feel we’re welcoming, not excluding, so I could probably go with circle…(((whispers))))) “was that okay? Can I have the 50 euros in cash?”

I think the name is fine. I long history of good posts in a welcoming environment will gradually increase the membership and readers.
Eventually the goal should be to get a huge readership, use adds to generate a lot of money which we then can use to charter a cruise ship and sail around the world sampling fine coffee.
I like to dream big.

Well Bill, I liked to dream big too, but today I tend to give all my dreams up because according to Janet, we, coffee drinkers, we´ll all be dead soon…

Don’t give your dreams, miki! and wasn’t a movie called “The Dead Poets circle”? (Oups! it was “Society” not circle… but circle sounds pretty exclusive to me… there are those in the circle and there are those outside the circle…of thrust! (Meet the Parents! I knew it was a movie with “circle”!!! Robert de Niro CIA man…

Don´t worry about my dreams Danu, they are in the best hands: my own!
Interesting our different perception of words, and the associations we have with. I really don´t like the word “club”, associate it a lot with the “red light clubs” which are everywhere on the main street in the touristic area, not far away from where I live, and with the English clubs, exclusiv for men, and and and…
But at least I have a wonderful association with “Le club des 5″ (children books from Enyd Blyton) these 4 children detectives with their dog Dagobert (in French), which I loved as I was a child (and I´m sure: I would still love them if I tried!)
In fact “circle” might attract me as a mathematician, and anyway I love circles, they look so kind of perfect. And divide the surface, as you say, in inside and outside, but in such an elegant complementary way!
But yes, i guess it sounds more “elitair”, and I don´t want that. And trust is important, in- and outside…
Very funny the comment with the Dead Poets Society… Great title for a film, though.
